Acoustic music that covers alot of territory, Mike Ehlers moves from folk-rap to pop, from alt-country to mellow grooves, from story-folk-with-a-punch to ballads born in the depths of a quieted gratitude.

His song “Father’s Day” won Song of the Year at a regional event for West Coast Songwriters. His song “Stay” also took Song of the Year at a North Bay event several years earlier.   Other local accolades include best song honors for events in the bay area at Berkeley, Marin, Sebastopol, Lafayette, Petaluma and Palo Alto.

More importantly, he is grateful for the the opportunities that have opened up through the years, and for the chance to share evenings of music and good vibes with people around the United States and into Canada.

Past local performances include The Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, The Mystic Theatre in Petaluma, Hopmonk in Sebastopol, The Fenix in Marin, The Union Room in San Francisco, Napa City Nights, and The Mendocino Music Festival.

Before returning to California in 2009, Mike spent five years in Edmonton, Canada, where he performed at City TV, Radio CBC's Center Stage, the Jubilee Auditorium, the Arden Theatre, the Northern Lights Folk Club and a variety of other venues in the city.

He currently makes his home in the San Francisco Bay Area, and continues to write, record and perform, at venues in Northern California and beyond.
